Our Company History

Our company is family owned and operated by Matt and Janice Jackering.

Our history begins in 1990 when Matt was hired by a six system mobile DJ company in Oshkosh. Matt was very busy with his studies and training at Fox Valley Technical College and had no time to work during the week.

Working Friday and Saturday evenings would be ideal and when the opportunity presented itself, Matt became a DJ assistant and quickly became one of the top DJs in the company. The following year, the company was divided up by four of the DJs who each purchased a system and operated the company together. Matt was the roommate of one of the new owners and continued to DJ accross Northeast Wisconsin.

In 1996, one of the original four owners was looking to move on and again an opportunity presented itself. Matt purchased his system and continued as one of the four owners. Matt and Janice wanted to advance the company by using the ever growing internet and by doing more than "just play music." When the other DJs didn't want to advance and wanted to just keep doing what had been done for years before, Matt and Janice created Fun Factory DJ in April of 1997. In a short time, Fun Factory became a major player in the DJ market.

The Fun Factory website was voted as the best DJ website by Mobile Beat Magazine in September 1999 and received recognition as a top five site by DJ Times Magazine in January 2002.

By this time Fun Factory had become a leader in the DJ industry by becoming a staff site designer for ProDJ.com and had moderated seminars at national DJ conventions. The foundation of the Northeast Wisconsin DJ Alliance in August 2002 by Matt was another step forward by combining the support and knowledge of other DJs in the area.

Today, Matt is a trusted professional in the wedding industry and works hard to continually improve not only Fun Factory Entertainment, but the entire entertainment and wedding industries.
