Membership Requirements:

To become a member of the NEWDJA, each service must meet 3 specific requirements.

• All bookings must be covered by a Legally Binding Contract
  • NEVER hire a DJ who does not use some sort of written contract. Without one, the DJ can back out or drop your event at will. Brides who call everybody in the phone book the week of their wedding looking for a replacement DJ is more common than you may think. Every time, the original DJ did not have a written contract.
    
    
• Must carry a Liability Insurance policy
  • In this day and age, insurance is not a luxury, it is essential. Although there is no legal obligation to have insurance, it is essential that your DJ be fully insured. Without it, you could be liable for any damages to the banquet hall and injuries incurred by guests. It is not common to have a liability issue at an event, but you don't want to take the chance.
    
    
• Not affiliated with a radio station or receive consistant bookings from a talent agency
  • This clause is designed to keep the benefits of the Alliance focused on the DJs who would benefit from it the most.
